On Adapting and Evolving in Light of COVID-19
Hi family,
I hope that it’s okay to address you as “family”. Over the last 4 years, it really feels like we’ve become exactly that. The various communities ROVE has had the honor of being part of are beautifully diverse, and many of us have witnessed all sorts of life changes and transitions. There have been career transitions, artist re-brands, marriages, untimely death, children and more.
We’ve been able to collaborate with so many other amazing brands including We Found New Music, Wide-eyed Presents, Play Like A Girl, Beating Lights, Ninety3 Impact and others. We’ve brought together thousands of artists and fans, we’ve introduced artists who have gone on to tour together, write together and even fall in love. We’ve produced and promoted festivals, magazine release parties, GRAMMY parties, comedy shows, movie premieres and the list goes on.
And we’ve done it all with your support. Thank you for believing in supporting artists. Thank you for believing in building community. Thank you for believing in using the arts to give back. Thank you for allowing us to do the same.
We were planning to launch a digital publication in Summer 2020, expanding our blog and providing a larger platform for the Creatives we work with. Now, in light of everything that is going on with COVID-19, we have decided to launch our publication in the Fall. We will be gathering contributors from around the globe to cover Entertainment (music, film, comedy, visual art, etc.), Activism and Non-Profits, Mental Health Tips, Inspiration and more. We will also be an aggregator of Information and Resources to keep our audience up-to-date with what is happening with COVID-19 for as long as this is something that is beneficial to our community.
In addition, we will be launching a series of live streams on our Instagram with artists from around the world. As we are based in Los Angeles, we will always have 1-2 artists from L.A. featured in those live streams. Supporting our community here at home will always be important to us as we continue to adapt and evolve.
I am excited for the future and believe in the tenacity of our community. We have weathered life changing and reality-altering experiences before. We are resilient, we will continue to adjust to new normals, and we will continue on (with a little help from our friends and deep breaths).
Cheers to community, art, adapting and evolving! Sending love and virtual hugs!
